Throughout the state of Louisiana, the HomeHelpExpress is taking online disaster relief to homeowners and to those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The HomeHelpExpress, a program operated by The Community College Foundation and sponsored by Freddie Mac, partners with Neighborworks America, a Washington, D.C. based national housing intermediary, and various local non-profit housing/credit organizations throughout the state of Louisiana to provide guidance and education on a wide range of topics related to homeownership after a natural disaster strikes. The HomeHelpExpress is staffed with qualified counselors from the various agencies to offer guidance on topics such as avoiding predatory lending, fraud prevention, home repair and rebuilding guidelines, and much more. Individuals can utilize the Internet to contact their insurance companies or check the status of their FEMA claim.
